Traditional Swedish Almond Cake Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1¼ cups sugar

  • 1 egg

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • 1½ tsp pure almond extract

  • 1¼ cups flour

  • ½ tsp baking powder

  • 1 stick (½ cup) melted butter

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).

  2. Spray almond cake pan with nonstick cooking spray.

  3. Beat sugar, egg, vanilla, and almond extract with milk until smooth.

  4. Add flour and baking powder; mix well.

  5. Stir in melted butter until fully incorporated.

  6. Pour into prepared pan and bake for 40–50 minutes, until edges are golden brown.

  7. Cool completely in pan before removing to prevent breakage.

  8. Dust with confectioner’s sugar or drizzle with icing before serving.

    Need to know if this one can be put in the dishwasher. I have one that was given to me that appears to be shinier than this one, and it has to be washed by hand.
